Come avrete visto dal video di So far away che gira da alcuni giorni, Joe e Barbara sono andati al concerto di San Josè.

According to longtime A7X fan Brittni Bass, a 21-year-ol Texan who made the trip by bus to catch the show, it was well worth the trek. Bass, a waitress who studying in college to become an EMT, had seen the band seven times before - but this night was special. "It was breathtaking," she told Noisecreep. "The band was full throttle the entire night. I know they haven't done a free show in a long time so this was really historic. But then when they announced that Joe and Barbara Sullivan, Jimmy's parents were there, the place went crazy. M. Shadows introduced them, then they dedicated 'So Far Away' to the Sullivans. I'll never forget that. Everyone held up their cellphones and the arena filled with light for Jimmy."
The two-year anniversary of the loss of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan is later this month, and as Joe Sullivan told Noisecreep, being at the show meant a lot to he and his wife, Barbara. "It was really special to us. Before we even entered the arena, fans started coming over to us, telling us both how much Jimmy meant to them. Then when Matt introduced us, we were sitting over by the soundboard, even more fans came over to speak to us, tell us stories about Jimmy - it means the world to us that our son touched so many lives."
Sullivan added that it was also the first time they'd seen Arin IIejay, Avenged Sevenfold's drummer. "We met him afterwards and spent some nice time with the band," Sullivan said. "IT was an incredibly meaningful night for my wife and I."
A quanto detto da una fan di lunga data degli A7X, Brittni Bass una ventunenne del Texas che ha viaggiato fino a qui in bus solo per vedere il concerto, è valsa la pena fare tutta questa sfacchinata. Bass è una cameriera che studia al college per diventare una EMT ha visto la band 7 volte prima di oggi, ma questa serata è stata speciale.
"mi ha tolto il fiato" ha raccontato a Noisecreep.
"La band è stata al massimo per tutto lo show, so che non hanno fatto show gratuiti per un sacco di tempo quindi questa serata è storica. Quando hanno annunciato che Joe e Barbara Sullivan erano qui, il posto è impazzito. Matt li ha introdotti e gli ha dedicato So Far Away. Non me lo dimenticherò mai. Tutti avevano i cellulari in mano e l'arena si è illuminata di luci per Jimmy."
Il secondo anniversario dalla perdita di Jimmy è alla fine di questo mese e, come Joe ha detto a Noisecreep, partecipare a questo concerto ha significato molto per lui e sua moglie Barbara:
"E' stato davvero speciale per noi. Prima che entrassimo nell'arena i fan hanno iniziato a venirci incontro per dirci quanto Jimmy significasse per loro. Quando Matt ci ha presentati, eravamo seduti sopra al mixer, e ancora più persone si sono avvicinate a noi per raccontarci le loro storie su Jimmy, e per noi significa davvero molto sapere quanto nostro figlio abbia toccato così tante vite."
Sullivan ha aggiunto anche che quella era la prima volta che vedeva suonare Arin Ilejay: "lo abbiamo incontrato a fine concerto e abbiamo passato un po' di tempo con la band" spiega "è stata una notte davvero significativa per me e mia moglie".
