Avenged Sevenfold have had one hell of a career in the 15 years they've been together. Over that time they've amassed a fair few music videos, too - some big-budget blockbusters, some simple tearjerkers. Time to remind ourselves of A7X's finest video moments.
10. 'Warmness On The Soul'
Ahhh, the good old days when Avenged were heavy on the eyeliner and hairspray. 'Warmness On The Soul' appeared on the band's debut album 'Sounding The Seventh Trumpet' which was made on a budget of $2,000, and we don't imagine much more cash was spent on the video, either. They've done a pretty good job of it, mind.
09. 'Unholy Confessions'
It's 2004, the band's second album 'Waking The Fallen' is out, and they're already spreading their wings and growing their fanbase globally. And what better way to pay those fans back than roping in a bunch of them for this raucous little promo?
08. 'Bat Country'
Mix one mega rock band, a love of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, some strippers and what have you got? One kickass, messed-up music video, that's what. 'Bat Country' was the band saying one thing loud and clear: "We've arrived".
07. 'Seize The Day'
Every band needs a heartfelt ballad, right? And every music video needs Synyster Gates soloing atop a coffin... right?! Fun fact: M. Shadows' wife in the video is played by Valary DiBenedetto, who is now his IRL wife. Zacky Vengeance can be seen in the coffin scene comforting her twin sister, Michelle DiBenedetto who is now Synyster Gates' IRL wife. WOAH.
06. 'Almost Easy'
Avenged really stepped it up a gear for their fourth album, not only in musical quality but in the scope of their music videos. It was go big or go home for the 'Almost Easy' promo and they just went HUGE. And don't worry, those people weren't really jumping into fire.
05. 'Afterlife'
This video really shows two sides to the band (literally) and was written by the band's dearly departed drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan. Fun Fact: The Rev had major arachnophobia and only agreed to have that spider on his face for the fans because he knew it would look cool as fuck. What a dude.
04. 'A Little Piece Of Heaven'
Now we take a look into The Rev's slightly sick and twisted mind. The Tim Burton similarities in this one are obvious, but even we don't think Mr Burton could dream up something like this.
03. 'Nightmare'
'Nightmare' was one hell of a comeback album for Avenged Sevenfold after The Rev passed away in 2009. This title track is a fitting tribute to the sorely-missed drummer and the video was shot in the style of his favourite film, '90s psychological horror Jacob's Ladder. Watch right to the end to really have your heartstrings pulled.
02. 'So Far Away'
Featuring glimpses into The Rev and the band's childhood and archive clips of the man himself, the video for 'So Far Away' really gave you a feel for how much he meant to his friends and family.

'Hail To The King' was a whole new start for Avenged Sevenfold. With a new album, a new drummer in the form of young buck Arin Ilejay and a new, throwback sound, the video that accompanied the title track was the first glimpse at the revitalised A7X.

Gli Avenged Sevenfold hanno avuto una carriera pazzesca in questi 15 anni insieme. In questo tempo hanno messo insieme anche un po' di video musicali, alcuni con un mega budget dietro e altri molto più amatoriali. Tempo di ricordarci quindi i video più qualitativi.
10 Warmness on the Soul.
Ahhh, i bei cari vecchi tempi quando i Sevenfold ci andavano pesanti con eyeliner e lacca. Warmness è nell'album di debutto della band, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, che fu registrato con un budget di soli 2000$ e non vogliamo neanche immaginare quanti altri soldi son stati spesi per il video. Ma han comunque fatto un buon lavoro con esso.
9 Unholy Confessions.
E' il 2004, il secondo album della band, Waking the Fallen, è appena uscito e loro stanno aprendo le loro ali e stanno crescendo col loro fanbase in modo globale. E c'è quindi un modo migliore per quei fans se non raccattarne qualcuno e infilarlo in questo piccolo promo?
8 Bat Country.
Mischiate una mega rock band e un amore per Paura e delirio a Las Vegas, qualche spogliarellista e cosa avrete? Un video strafigo e confusionario, ecco cosa. Bat Country è stato il modo con cui la band ha detto chiaramente "siamo arrivati".
7 Seize the Day.
Ogni band necessita di una ballata strappacuore, vero? E ogni video musicale necessita di un Syn Gates che suona un assolo sopra ad una bara. Vero? La cosa divertente? La moglie di M Shadows nel video è Valary Di Benedetto che è anche nella realtà sua moglie. E potete anche vedere Zacky Vengeance confortare, durante la scena del solo sulla bara, la gemella di Val ovvero Michelle Di Benedetto che altri non è se non la moglie vera di Syn Gates. Woah!
6 Almost Easy.
Gli A7X hanno si son dati una marcia in più per il loro quarto album, non solo in qualità musicale ma anche per lo scopo dei loro video musicali. Era molto un "vai alla grande o vai a casa" per Almost Easy che era la canzone promo e loro sono andati alla grandissima. E non preoccupatevi, quella gente non stava saltando davvero nel fuoco.
5 Afterlife.
Questo video mostra due lati della band (letteralmente) e fu scritto dal caro membro departito della band, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. La cosa divertente: Jimmy soffriva di aracnofobia e ha accettato di farsi mettere dei veri ragni sulla faccia solo per i fans, perchè sarebbe sembrato molto figo. Che tipo!
4 A Little Piece of Heaven.
Diamo adesso un'occhiata alla mente perversa e malata di The Rev. Le similitudini con Tim Burton in questo video sono molto ovvie ma pensiamo anche che Mr Burton si sognerebbe soltanto qualcosa del genere.
3 Nightmare.
Nightmare è stato un gran album di ritorno sulle scene per gli A7X dopo la dipartita di The Rev, che se ne è andato nel 2009. La canzone che da il titolo al cd è un tributo adatto al compianto batterista e il video è stato girato ricordando il suo film preferito, l'horror psicologico degli anni 90 "la scala di Jacob". Guardatelo fino alla fine per avere il cuore in pezzi.
2 So Far Away.
E' composto da spezzoni dall'infanzia della band e di The Rev, con video di lui stesso, il video di So Far Away ti fa veramente capire quanto veramente fosse importante lui per i suoi amici e la sua famiglia.
1 Hail to the King.
Hail to the King è stato veramente un nuovo inizio per gli Avenged Sevenfold. Con un nuovo disco, un nuovo batterista nella formazione ovvero il giovane Arin Ilejay e un nuovo sound che ricorda molto il passato, il video che ha accompagnato la canzone che da il titolo al nuovo album è stato anche il primo sguardo ai Sevenfold rivitalizzati.
